The classic Italian \’sun-dried\’ variety, harvest whole plants and hang in a sunny, airy position until fruits become leathery to touch. With adeterminate, bushy habit that require no support it is best grown outdoor in a sheltered location. Approx. 100 seeds Sow indoors March-April. A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow thinly, 0.5cm (\”) deep, in a pot of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20C (60-68F) is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Transplant to individual pots when 10-15cm (4-6\”) tall. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out into warm, well-drained soil, 60cm (2\’) apart, during May-June when frosts are over. Harvest: August-October.
