Description

Tillandsia secunda seeds grow into an epiphytic bromeliad native to the wet tropical biome of the northern Andes from Ecuador and Colombia. The epithet secunda means ‘one-sided’, referring to the secund inflorescence in which all the flowers or bracts are arranged along one side of the spike a diagnostic character within the genus. A member of subfamily Tillandsioideae forming an epiphytic rosette on tree branches in the humid Andean cloud forests of Ecuador and Colombia. Family Bromeliaceae.
