• Direct sow seeds in late spring in moist, well-drained soil when soil has warmed to 65F. Grows best in a sunny location protected from wind. Start indoors six weeks before last spring frost. Tolerates poor soil and prefers drier conditions, but be sure to water during long, dry periods.
• For best germination, soak seeds in water 24 hours before planting. Do not fertilize plants. Blossoms tend to appear later in the season.
