Description
Physalis alkekengi Grow in partial/full sun Perennial Plant grows 15- 18/38-45cm. Inflated orange-red seed pods resembling Chinese lanterns develop late in the summer and are excellent for use in fresh and dried arrangements. The colorful lanterns develop as a papery husk or the ripening berries. Flowers are white and rather inconspicuous. Cut stems when lanterns reach full color; dry by hanging small clusters upside down in a dry, shady location.
